Yeah, and I'm low-key annoyed about that as now there's no area of the food court with a view outside. If anyone goes to the Ballroom, I'd like to know if they even utilized the view inside or if they just covered the windows.

As for whether the old Beer store is large enough for a dance club or not - I've been to plenty of small clubs over the years so not sure why it couldn't work for that reason, but there might be other reasons.

Thinking a food court belongs in a basement, rather than literally anything else that doesn't benefit from windows, is so Toronto it hurts. At least it'll have great access to the subway.😒

Actually, is there enough space there for that? I was expecting Winners to close, since they moved across the street to Eaton Centre.
That would grant a lot more space, maybe?
I hear rumours that the former beer store space is going to become a second food court, since Tim Horton's is already there...
I believe regulations no longer allow dance clubs on the 2nd or higher floors due to noise issues.

I just got into a weird exchange with someone on here about them not being clear so I should practice what I preach! Lol

I saw on IG that there is an event (where people may or may not dance 😱🫢🤫) at 333 Yonge at what is now a gallery.

I don't see how they'd be able to connect to that space as an exit with their current layout.
The current gift shop is a bit cramped next to the West Coast addition, but I think they have a lot of space to play with still. The planed area for Little Montreal section is currently desk space, Little North is under construction, and the Little Prairies space could go where the West Coast was originally supposed to be on the other side of the Meet the Makers space.

Little Canada could take over the old Beer Store space to use as a gift shop. This would allow for more exhibit space in the main Little Canada space.
I'd rather see more options at the Tenor rather than further consolidation. I'm still hoping if/when the Winners ever leaves, they'll carve up that cavernous space to allow a cafe by the corner windows (à la Starbucks at Shibuya crossing in Tokyo) with more than one retail option in the rest, or a late-night entertainment option that takes advantage of the fact that it's one of the few areas of the city where you're unlikely to get complaints of noise when people spill out at 1-2am (still thinking a late-night reading/listening lounge could be nice, but heck, maybe that would work for the Beer store space now as you don't need a view if you're reading? ).

Or, would any of the spaces lend themselves to roller-skating? Just found out the closest spot for that is in Mississauga!

That's what started me looking actually, as I'm unfortunately not free until after the one at Union finishes for the year 😕

Am I the only one who was unaware you were serving time for an unspecified crime, and won't be paroled until March?

I feel like I should have known this...
