I wanted to personally share a band I discovered last year called Sleep Token. They are an English metal band but they mix a variety of genres in a really unique way. They just released a pretty solid new album recently so maybe some of you will enjoy it too.

Always looking for fresh metal!

I went to the Deafheaven show at The Opera House last week. Their new album "Lonely People With Power" is great! (they're blackgaze – shoegaze style music with black metal vocals).

Gatecreeper (extremely loud ?thrash) were on before then, and were also good. Not normally my vibe, but I've listened to their new stuff a few times.

You have excellent taste! This band was where my love for the blackgaze genre started. I still remember hearing Sunbather back in 2013, that album had a huge impact on me.

As a bit of a metalhead, I can say I've never heard of this new "blackgaze" subgenre!

Worth a listen! I'm coming into metal from so-called alternative, so the guitar textures in blackgaze really work for me
