Honestly once you get Midland to Brimley, its a very very short side street route to get to the existing bridge, then you already have a MUP through Jack Goodlad Park on the other side

Maybe a MUP can be put in the boulevard of Midland down to Romulus. Then its just entirely quiet side streets.

Again, someday perhaps a special bridge can be built like 401, but this is pretty well a good connection already.
My only (minor) gripe is that both (Moorgate) bridge, and sidewalks on the west side near Kennedy at Ranstone to link back up with the path, are quite narrow and busy in the summer.

I have attempted, and failed to climb the bridge ramp with a cargo carrier without getting off. At the top, it's one way only if anyone else is present in the opposite direction. Similar one way experience on the sidewalk where dismounting makes sense.

The Midland Brimley section of trail is finally set to be tendered (the work was supposed to happen last year).

On the agenda for the next meeting of the TRCA Executive Ctte:

Seems like a low-priority segment if there is no way to get to Kennedy from Midland? Surprised there is no MUP on Midland between the Meadoway and Romulus Dr here.
This has long irritated me. It is such a detour from the Meadoway to use the bridge between Tara and Mooregate. Even with a connection at the west end of Romulus, the street structure still forces a lot of zigzagging. This is why I've long advocated for a new crossing over / under the GO and TTC lines, and even illustrated in one of my first YouTube videos.

I'm sure I've seen plans in the Meadowway plan for a new bridge over the tracks in the hydro corridor, funding required of course.

Even before a new bridge, this new segment will make the current route less streety.

One can get back on the trail at Midland rather than taking the side streets to the southeast.

A MUP in the boulevard on Midland would go a long way too.

Regarding the remaining stretches of The Meadoway, I was informed by city staff last month the Bermondsey to Eglinton stretch will start construction in late 2025 or early 2026. That stretch will be built by the City of Toronto instead of TRCA.

I also got a note from The Meadoway team recently that they did get funding to start the planning and permitting for the remainder of Section 6 (Neilson to Military Trail and Morningside to Conlins).

The hold up here has been Mx........which lacks enthusiasm for a new traffic lit crossing for the Meadoway on Eglinton.

Metrolinx has ALWAYS been the hold up, LOL! 🤣 Makes me wonder how long the bridge over the Stouffville line could end up being delayed for if we had to wait years for the East Don Trail tunnel and the signal at Eglinton.

Generally true. They are a safe bet as a cause of problems.

Though, Hydro One has been known to a real PITA too.

Any idea how to get the idiots at Google Maps to accept the new Medoway trail?

Its visible on Toronto's apps like the Bike Share.

I've tried to get Google to add it about 3 times now and they reject every claim, I can even see that other people are adding the suggestion edit too

I think ill go over the long weekend and use my 360 camera to add it to Street View, and then see what they do once its super F%#$$ing obvious it exists.

Google: Renaming the Gulf of Mexico "Gulf of America" is more important than adding the new Meadoway Trail.

Even OpenStreetMap has the new Meadoway Trail.

Time to stop Googling and start looking for alternatives.
