Many other major cities which rely heavily on transit use distance-based fares. I can't see why it wouldn't work for Toronto.

Well we should not be promoting people who are not going to take transit, to live in our central corridor. 10% is a disgrace.

Yeah, we should make it cheaper to do short off-peak trips for those who don't have a Metropass. Time based transfers would do it too.

For distance based fares, it seems like we'd need to wait until Presto rolls out first. Then there'll be a huge political fight depending on where the zones are placed, if it ever happens.
