Nice to see this moving along. It’s going to be good to fill that parcel, even with the park going.
 
I agree that retail is not needed here. There are a decent amount of retail spaces that are available in Kensington already. The number of people required to support retail uses might surprise some people around here.

Think of a small rural town of around 1000 people. They would probably have a gas station. Perhaps a Subway and a general store. A building like this can't support a significant amount of retail, especially given that the residents won't have a bunch of disposable income.

Personally, I would love to see an additional 5000+ residents in Kensington with zero additional retail. Perhaps then we might see more businesses stay open after 8PM.
 
A corner café in the building would’ve been nice but other than that, I agree not every needs to have retail.
Any word on when this might start?
