The MAP shows decent progress in just 3 weeks of "official" cleaning. Yet, the WM and YH remain untouched.

I noticed that some of the downtown parking lots and parkades haven't been cleaned yet. One parking lot is still covered in gravel. A little birdie told me they're still waiting for the city to clean the streets in the vicinity before they proceed with their own cleaning.

105st, 99ave on Heritage Trail in one of the densest and most walkable areas and 104st in the market. What gives?

Government area and a very dense/walkable part of Downtown, meh. Our lower income neighbourhoods, Chinatown and Little Italy, in due time, but random residential with very low walkability or use, done a month ago.

Fairness, it's how we have always done it, very little strategic oversight?

It's the most Edmonton thing that you can do.

I strongly suggest keeping this in mind during the municipal election this fall. In fact, make it an election issue.
Here's the thing...some people are happy with it because they get done first while others are behind. So, is it really going to swing a vote one way or the other? I don't know.

All depends on what stance the mayoral candidates will take on it.

It's not an election issue as much as it is telling about how much we care for priority areas such as our CBD, Whyte, gateways/entrances and first impressions.

When you do random hood x before 1/2 of your government district/provincial capital and key gateways from the airport or into Downtown, it says A LOT.

This showed up in Paquette's Newsletter, doesn't address the main complaint here about prioritization but does validate that things are taking longer than usual.

"Street Sweeping

Street sweeping of all roadways is now 40% complete. Sweeping is taking longer this year due to the 230% increase in traction material required during the winter, this has resulted in a larger amount of debris on the roadways. The higher volumes require more passes and slower speeds. Crews are approximately 2-3 days behind and will be working extra days to catch up."
