It's a 800 seat restaurant, I doubt the food quality will be there. It will be like dining at a banquet hall. With the size and decor and the "largest retractable roof" It's like Vegas style tourist trap restaurant. I will pass on it. I'll stick with my cozy bistro's and pubs for dining out.

I don't disagree, its not a priority for me to try.

But then again, the new steakhouse from the well credentialed Rob Rossi has a couple of things on its menu that strike me as offensively priced relative to possible quality.

So....let me get this straight, fresh fettuccine w/creamy egg-parm sauce..........is $78 This is basically Carbonara w/o the guanciale (bacon).

I can replicate this with identical ingredients for under $15, if I cheat and get the fresh pasta from Eataly, maybe $17

I'm sure its lovely, and of course it will be marked up to reflect the ambiance and the service, but at over $34 they've lost their minds.

PS, 24-month aged parm is standard, that's President's Choice........they make it sound so high end, LOL

Last night I tried Taqueria el pastorcito at Bloor and Dufferin. It was recommended by a Costa Rican colleague at work as her favourite Mexican spot in the city. It 100% lived up to the recommendation. My partner and I were the only gringos in the restaurants. Very basic decor, simple menu and no frills. I will definitely be back.

It's great. Try the tripe if they have it. They got a nice write up in the West End Phoenix last year.


They have a few locations now. Their website doesn't list them, but their instagram does.

I could swear someone posted this article last summer and we had a bit of a laugh about how a guy whose previous experience was managing a Shoeless Joe's was somehow getting this press about how he was going to open an amazing waterfront restaurant.

Mozy’s Charcoal, as its name suggests, will focus on the charcoal method of cooking rather than on the authenticity of the cuisine. There are plenty of places in the city to get a classic kebab—Mozy’s is where Soudi will turn out Toronto-inspired takes, which could mean Chinese-inspired cumin lamb or a peanut satay skewer wrapped up in a pita with Thai basil and pineapple. And of course, visitors can also expect some iteration of koobideh, an Iranian favourite usually made with ground lamb or beef and spices.

I wouldn't be surprised if this place becomes a cooperate event space during the winter months. I just don't see how they are going to pack 800 plus people on those cold winter nights on the waterfront. The labour and food costs alone are going to be astronomical.

I saw on TikTok they had some scantily clad women dressed up as mermaids swimming in a tank at the VIP grand opening. How classy lol

That sounds good, but if you don't live in Liberty Village, probably not worth braving the inevitable crowds.

The U.S. parent has sold its 8 remaining stores in western Canada and the exclusive right to develop and operate Olive Garden stores in Canada as a whole, to Recipe Unlimited.

Recipe is the parent of Harveys, Swiss Chalet, The Keg, and a host of other banners.

I recently went to a medieval festival and one of the attractions was a mermaid swimming around in a little kiddie pool - I'll admit that was more interesting than anything else there 😆
