Taken together this does not matter as there is no election in Ontario any time soon and we are stuck with Ford at least until spring 2029 or at worst until 2030. By then hopefully we have a solid opposition leader who can challenge Ford. The Liberals better not elect Nate Erskine-Smith or Nav Bains. Both would be awful candidates.
I agree with what you're saying just wanted to share the polls. But, most likely the next Liberal leader will be one of the two people you mentioned... so yeah. So much for that, especially Bains who I don't think will do well.

Bains would be awful as he is a political operative much like Jagmeet Singh was and he devastated the NDP federally. Both seem to fail to relate to people and appear to be power hungry. This province needs to get its shit together and act like a wealth generator for Canada instead of a laggard welfare recipient. The wastefulness and lack of strategy from Ford is terrible. He has wasted nearly a decade in power and he hasn’t addressed the economy here.

Erskine-Smith is none too popular in this article by Martin Regg-Cohn

Actually, I think Jagmeet's pitfall was less in his being any kind of "political operative" than in terms of his being something of a paper-thin "stunt leader" in practice. Whereas with Bains, the ethnicity is incidental--at worst, as "political operatives" go, he'd be Del Duca with a turban. (But at this point, he's more of a question mark than a true confirmed dud-in-the-making.)

Singh represented a lot of that Trudeau-era, 2010s awash political vibe where so much of the policy was wrapped up in a virtuousness more than thoughtfulness. I guess we can consider it the post-Obama decade, only Singh came into it too late. Someone like Kinew (or Mamdani, I guess) is a logical improvement of that vibe but with better 2020s policies and a more thoughtful approach to what the public wants and needs. Singh's NDP issues were also a logical conclusion to the house (party) that Jack built.

I'm encouraged by the current Ontario polling situation but know that the media will be brought out against NES in due time, such as the above already happening. Ford is operating like someone who isn't running again and everything will be let loose.

Honestly, as a Scarborough Southwest resident I don't want NES running here.

With all the drama he brings along with him, it would take away from serving the area where I live.

Not sure where to put this, but the mayor's newsletter said that Mississauga is looking into establishing it's own police force since we pay too much for Peel Regional Police.

Not sure if it's possible for Mississauga to do this on its own, or if it's more of a bargaining chip or what.

Classic Mississauga whining. Doesn’t it have a larger tax base? More employment? More businesses? Budgeting for things like police is a lot more complex than just population.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_of_Humane_Letters

The degree of Doctor of Humane Letters (Latin: Litterarum humanarum doctor; DHumLitt, DHL, or LHD) is an honorary degree awarded to those who have distinguished themselves through humanitarian and philanthropic contributions to society.

The criteria for awarding the degree differ from institution to institution; however, it is typically given to persons outside the university invited to be keynote speakers at the most important university events, or to faculty members or alumni of the institution who have, in the eyes of the institution or the wider world, distinguished themselves in some way.

The flexibility in interpretation has resulted in universities awarding unique variants of the degree. For example, in 1996 Southampton College awarded Kermit the Frog an honorary "doctorate of Amphibious Letters" in recognition for his contribution to children's education.

By the time the next election comes. Would it be possible for Ford to lose his seat if the PCs were to lose an election? Not sure if Etobicoke North has a lot of older people who either tend to vote PCs and you probably have low income people who probably don’t vote and have voter apathy?
