Got the same email. What a load of horse shite. Am I the only one that's completely livid at how Pinnacle has managed this? Love how they go weeks and months ignoring emails and requests for information. And then at 8pm the night before occupancy, they unload this nonsense BS email on us. Since when can builders assign a 3rd party to conduct a PDI on our behalf without our consent? I've read through Tarion's guidelines can't find that stated anywhere.
 
I think best thing to do is to document everything. Put in writing you wanted a pdi and weren't given an opportunity. Make sure to take pictures and email them, then file anything with tarion immediately. They do have requirements based on regulations in Ontario. They're supposed to give notice for PDIs and make effort to schedule them. They have put in quite literally 0 effort.
 
This has been an absolute mess. They barely put any effort into advertisng this site compared to the other projects they have. I'm still wondering how they plan on getting everyone moved in from now until the end of the month. I bought a unit on the 27th floor and my occupancy date is Oct 29th
 
The Tarion site says "Either a homeowner or a designate must be present during the PDI. When the inspection is over, they must sign the PDI Form. It is very important that the homeowner understand how to operate their home’s systems because not using them properly could affect their warranty coverage.". If they're doing PDI without purchasers present, might be time to get legal advice?
 
Going in today. They called it a visit/inspection but never said it was a PDI… so will see when I get there. No mention of keys either but got our occupancy permit
