What I mean is that these people are given the power to be violent in the name of the state. The reason why the military is not allowed to have a union is because this is such a large power that those exercising this power should not have the protection of a union when it comes to defending the use of this power (... well improper use). Why should it be different for the police? The reason why it seems no action is taken in the above case is due to procedural protections that are argued - and accepted through negociation - through the unions.
Police unions for what ever reason seem to be the most corrupt.
 
From Pat on Rail Fans Discord. The police seems to use the sidewalk as their parking for the break room. Not sure I've ever not seen at least one police SUV parked there (we can see two in that pic). Renting that space should have included a few spots for cop cars. Better yet, that space should only be used for foot/bike patrol.

even if they rented spots, a number of cops aren't gonna take the time to park and walk. who's gonna stop em?
