I mean, it's certainly one of the most vibrant streets in the city - between Dundas and Queen it's basically a giant outdoor patio on both sides, usually packed with people on many nights of the week. Always a great stretch to cruise through on the bike!

Although, there's other examples of "cool" streets and emergent neighbourhoods like Queen East/Carlaw in Leslieville, Dundas West/Little Portugal, Dundas West/The Junction, Geary Ave, Cawthra Ave (north of the Junction core). I think it's fair to say that Ossington is one of the more comprehensively and collectively transformed streets in Toronto. Just taking a look through this stretch on Google maps street view from 10-12 years ago really shows how much change has happened. From empty and underused storefronts to a thriving strip of popular and in demand shops, bars, and eateries.

One interesting thing after going to the spectacular Babyn Yar exhibit at the Koffler Arts Centre on Shaw Street. There is an

addition to the building on the northeast corner of Argyle and
Ossington that looks like a retail space with apartment on top. Nothing on CofA site but I am assuming that the large opening isn’t for a garage. Photos taken 19 April.

Ossington, thy name is urban intensification! The success of lower Ossington is pushing north past Dundas and east-west along Argyle. I will also note that there are 3 or 4 schools in the area, at least one of which will probably declared surplus soon. I see one of the larger, progressive developers like Dream, Westbank or Windmill buying it.

@rdaner which schools are you thinking may be up for development?

Given/Shaw was at 74% enrollment last I saw, that's not suggestive of closure to me.

The site beside (east) is already Artscape.

While the closed Catholic School on Humbert, recently used by UTS is listed internally by the TDCSB to be retained to meet future enrollment needs last I heard.

Alex Muir/Gladstone show as projected 104% of capacity next year.

Nice little stroll on Ossington before it got too hot! Paris Paris has taken over space to the north and there is new public art which I like. Taken 7 July.
