There is a tone that is set or comes from the top of the government. I am a bit surprised by this in particular, but not surprised by the pettiness in general.

What about a National Indigenous History museum? I know the Canadian History Museum in Ottawa has First Peoples Hall, but I don't think there is a standalone museum in Canada.

What was the national museum the federal government under Harper was looking for a host centre for and then Edmonton was the top bid? Or only qualifying bid meeting the standards? And then the feds scrapped the idea?
Anyone remember that?
