The Region of Peel is seeking to retain an architectural firm providing full service and inclusive architectural and professional consulting services for the design, construction contract administration, and Canada Green Building Council Zero Carbon Building (CaGBC ZCB) Design for the expansion of the Surveyor Shelter located at 2420 Surveyor Road in Mississauga, Ontario.
The services include undertaking design development and detailed design to secure full site plan approvals for the new shelter (as well as any other applicable planning applications and agreements including but not limited to a minor variance application) deemed necessary through the course of site plan review. Additionally, the Consultant is responsible for obtaining any conditional permits necessary to allow for construction on site.
The Consultant will be responsible for preparing construction drawings, specifications, and tender packages for a construction management project delivery model; obtaining building permit approvals; coordinating with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction and any other regulatory bodies to obtain any and all approvals required, providing construction contract administration services; and for coordinating any additional consulting services required to effectively and efficiently deliver the Project through to successful completion.
The Consultant selected to perform the services will have expertise in leading complex development projects and will be responsible for assembling and managing a multi-disciplinary experienced consulting team to deliver a fully integrated scope of services.
The site is approximately 1.4 hectares (3.45 acres) and currently operates a 108-room emergency shelter for families. The Agency intends to develop the site to accommodate approximately 42 additional family shelter units in a 2 or 3 storey design.
