So... the CN Tower is about to turn 50, on June 26, halfway to officially becoming an antique. We'll do a front page story, although I'm not sure in what format quite yet, but if any of you have particular CN Tower memories that you'd like to share — especially from the time when it was being built — please either add them in this thread, or if you think they are special enough for us to include in our coverage on the 26th, then please DM me with them! Whether construction related or impact on the city or you personally, it all may be worth splashing out about!

Well, other than Union Station, most of that Metro Centre land really *was* a blank canvas of sorts--after all, it's where the South Core and Cityplace and more eventually sprung up...Whoa, that plan. In the sixties, they really did regard downtown Toronto as some kind of blank canvas
