Ran some errands in the NE and took some pictures of some projects that don't get alot of coverage here. Pictures aren't the best, was out with my kid and didn't want to step away from the vehicle or deal with the hassle of taking them out of the car.
1) The Parkdale Bridge Healing project from Jasper Place Health and Wellness is really speeding up. This is one will have 24 suites for homeless folks who are being discharged from the hospital but need ongoing medical care and have nowhere to go while longer term housing is arranged. There is already one of these facilities in Glenwood and then another one will be built in Highlands.
2) This is the commercial building on 118th ave and 48th Street. Looks like they focused on getting that parking lot built first.
3) This is the project across from the Kathleen Andrews Bus Garage at Fort Road and 125th ave. Its a kids recreation centre, correct? Looks like its almost done.
4) Terrible picture, but there is a foundation being dug up at the south end of the Pimatisiwin (formerly Sands Hotel) site. Not exactly sure what is going in there, is it an expansion of their emergency shelter?
5) This is a big project in Canon Ridge, surprised I haven't seen it mentioned here. Its a huge apartment complex! The apartment building is nearingcompletion and shares a parking lot with the 2 strip mall commercial buildings. One is filled already with Starbucks, Edo, a cannabis store, and a liquor store. The other one is currently empty.
And lastly, just because every time I drive by the Harbin gate rotting in a city lot it makes me sad.
