Rezoning proposal to allow for a car dealership north of Home Depot on Gateway Blvd.

Currently an empty lot.

At the same time, doesn't exactly jive with the Strathcona Junction ARP consolidation plans, even if it beats the decades old empty lot.

Anyone know any history of that site? Pretty prime piece of real estate to sit as an empty field for ages.

Edgemont with some ugly apartments 🙃

Is this just a former prison design with some random lime green and blue boxes added to balconies?

Oh, and this is a 3min drive further west from the valley line terminus that’s next to 0 housing and a golf course.

Our city planners are the bestest.

In red: our 5 billion dollar train line and terminus.

In green: over 2000 units of housing, a half billion dollar rec centre and library, multiple major shopping centres, 3 junior high schools.

Is this one of the greatest oversights in transit design our city has made?

University and kingsway ground level crossings are up there. But this is opportunity cost to the moon…

I'm interested in seeing how these buildings age. Generally, bright exterior paint ends up looking like absolute hot dog water after a few years.

Work on Beljan’s Ritchie Hub on Whyte Ave is well underway.

Eastbound Whyte Ave recently closed for utility work.

Not sure what’ll be going in here.

I assume they’ll put in a BRT stop at Whyte and 96th St?

It would be nice if there were some streetscape improvements on Whyte between 96th and 99th St, but don’t think it’s part of the Old Strathcona Public Realm renewal. Maybe one day.

8636 108th St NW in Garneau. I'm not exactly sure what the deal is—I didn't take a close look at the signage—but from searching around online, it looks to be a project called Holland House. By the looks of it, four townhomes with secondary suites?

8 stairwells of wasted space. I like the product given the current restrictions, but I do think a lot of living space is being lost to the skinny townhouse design compared to what could be built with SES on the same lot.

Happy to see 8 homes where there was 2.

Dumb question: Is this a product of legal restrictions alone? Couldn't this complex legally have had two staircases per building instead of four?
