I saw it closed on my way home from Hamilton late last week with construction/demolition hoarding around it. I was a fan of this store, but I bet it's too small and/or out of the way for Metro.
 
That's a shame, it's such a landmark and there are fewer and fewer of that style left.
 
Given that Mississauga is sorta-conscientious t/w its Modern heritage (cf. the Canadian Tire station on Southdown), I'd be surprise if there *wasn't* concern offered here. (And IIRC it's actually 50s, not 60s.)
 
I drove past it a few days ago and it was completely gone. Just a pile of debris.
