Took my kid to city center via the train to run and errand. Train itself was fine but as usual the big issue is how the elevators smell like urine. It's a major disincentive to go downtown with a stroller. We desperately need attended public washrooms in the Churchill area that are open 24/7 and to folks on the street. I know it would cost a pretty penny but alot less than putting attendants in every elevator!

We basically have that in Churchill already.

Can you please ask Carrie about sending feedback like this through 311? The "transit feedback" category requires operator info, incident time, and other info that is not applicable in cases like this. Yet, they said at the service plan event last year to send suggestions through 311.

Yeah, I know about that but at the event she specifically said that 311 is the best way to send feedback, route requests, suggestions, etc. Plus it's just convenient to access since I have the app. But you're right, that web form is a lot better suited for general feedback.

January 2026 Newsletter recently suggested going through Transit Rider Feedback Form to report route/bus specific inclement weather concerns.


Wish 311 app would be revised, because it can be a pain in the ass.

Took the LRT from 102st to Muttart and man o man 102-Churchill was sketchy.

Not a single visible uniform on a busy Saturday night with many families and single women waiting.

3/5 shelters at 102st being used with open drug use.

A guy on the train totally spaced out barely standing.

This is simply unacceptable. I'll be speaking with ETS and our Councillor next week.

Yes, arrested, but to be clear, they should be sent to mandatory drug rehabilitation programs - not prisons.

My BIL is middle management at ETS, he had a few interesting things to say. The switch from 4 to 2 car trains is preventing drug use and loitering from when homeless concentrate and take over an entire car. Shorter trains force people to mix and this eye's on the street psychology has caused a drop in damage and disruption. Also EPS has stepped up enforcement on the LRT and they're finding many of these people have warrants for arrest in other locations, so they can ship them out of the city. Some had dozens apparently.

FYI he has for years insisted the plan is to tunnel underneath the CN rail yard.

Interesting. Apparently, the new high-floor LRVs the city is purchasing will be longer (4-car train = current 5-car train). That means we can double down on this strategy with less compromise of capacity. Easier to check fares too. Would have preferred open gangways though, but I can imagine why the logistics may be tricky.

Highlights the unfortunate realities of other communities dumping their problems on Edmonton, as well as the feds not taking bail reform and law enforcement seriously (yet). Good to see the increased police presence working.

I’d still prefer a bridge instead of a tunnel for pedestrian/cyclist connections. Lately though, my preference has been to run the LRT along the Yellowhead and cross the CN tracks at 97th Street with a much shorter crossing to save money and bring the line closer to Northgate.
