It is most certainly going to be a "combustible build" -- as per 'O, economics dictates that it must be. However, with current Provincial and City building codes and the fact that for this project there is going to be subterranean parking reinforced concrete will provide structure for the parking and for the ground floor -- the six floors above will be stick framing.
I have seen a 5 over 1 but never 6 over 1. It would be a first.?

*keep in mind that Lilac is now 7 storeys with slight design revisions, but here's an idea of what the block will look like.

So that means concrete build? I wouldn't have thought a 7 storey concrete build (given its more costly construction) is more financially viable versus a 6 storey wood frame?
And if not, what's advantage of going to 7?
