Does anyone miss the days when your only option to get anywhere by public transit was taking a packed (and profit turning) streetcar that can be outpaced by a bicycle?

Except for that whole profit thing, this sounds like Toronto circa 2010 to me.

In the plans for the building of the Yonge HRT and Queen LRT subways was a promise from the province and federal governments for 20% funding. The funding never came. So the Queen LRT subway was postponed... and postponed... and postponed...

No, our rapid transit network really helps to differentiate Toronto circa 2010 from then. Plus, riding a bike is not a great alternative in the suburbs.

Actually it is. I live in the suburbs and biking is by far the fastest way to get around at rush hour.
