Personally, I really hope that they return to the original design. The larger re-design seems ungainly and unfortunate -- and it ruins the symmetry of the project, imho. Perhaps the downtown and the lengthy development pause will encourage them to go back to the first design. I doubt it... but perhaps. :)

I looked the site over from a 7th floor window in the TGH yesterday, there were no signs of life that might have been invisible at street level.

If work were to restart (and I hope it does) it seems VERY unlikely they would do much before Christmas (or even Spring.)
 
Not a big fan of this one I am afraid. The original tower has concrete? stone? at the bottom that is very heavy looking, defying gravity but not in a great way. The redesign looks more interesting, but seems very blocky. I would rather the project was slenderized a bit and gave a bit more back to the streets around. But hey almost anything is better than a dead project in mid-construction.
