Whenever I see any Toronto building veiled for renovation like that, I get very very nervous. You never know what kind of atrocity is going to be revealed a few months later.

Maybe the conical tower will be removed to save on structural maintenance. Maybe they'll put in white-framed vinyl windows. Maybe they'll paint the facade grey. The list of standard-issue heritage building maintenance atrocities in Toronto goes on and on. I'm hopeful, though, that the owner knows what they have here.

No qualms with using brick and stone on the mega mansions in Kleinburg and King Township though, only with the upkeep of aging buildings in the old city.
