YANGMING has replaced Brits Fish & Chips.
I took a look at the menu and it's your archetypal honkified Chinese-Canadian fare. I'll pass.

There were plans for a Steam Whistle 'brew pub' there a number of years ago, but it never materialized.
 
One could blame Brits closure on the Valley Line LRT construction seeing that their Argyll Road location is still open.
Winston's is my go-to place for fish & chips.
It's been a while since I tried Brit's. They struck me as kind of underwhelming at the time. OTTO is my go-to nowadays.

In my humble opinion they had the best fish and chips around. Visitors from out of town would always ask to go there.
 
Sadly, saw that one coming. We drove by on the holidays when the Italian Centre was PACKED and it had almost nobody there.

A series of unfortunate events, disorder and 'out of sight out of mind'.

I miss those sandies, but always found the IC just that much better.
 
Also didn’t help that the City’s best Italian store and cafe was less than a kilometre away.
 
An Italian grocery store in Chinatown wasn't really a good fit, was it? In any case, that post-fire reconstruction should house a good dim sum restaurant. There's already a deluge of herbal medicine shops and Vietnamese eateries in Chinatown.
