Another thing is have your restaurants Google profile up to date with hours, menu, maybe some interior shots, etc. People use that a lot when they hear about a restaurant and want to visit it later or when they're just searching up an area for places to eat.

Also, for any potential restaurants looking for a new way to promote your restaurant, I will rent my forum signature out. $100/mo for advertising use. Guaranteed I make at least a post per day. 2500 existing posts seen by Edmontonians daily. Top notch visibility. HMU

Food Notes for October 20, 2025

Openings
  • Ukie’s Yummy, with “authentic and modern Ukrainian cuisine” is now open in the Mercer Warehouse, 10359 104 Street NW.
Another Ukrainian restaurant mere blocks away from the new Ukrainian restaurant taking over the Dalla space. It will be interesting to see if there's enough demand to sustain both.

Also was recently back in town. Was lucky enough to try Nero - food was great, cocktails great, good wine and beer list. Wandered over to slow pour after for a night cap.

Then had Atrium by Sabor for lunch - excellent food quality and the atmosphere is quietly elevated and professional. I regret that I was unable to try the crema de Catalonia donut.

Coming to the old Brown's location on 124 st and 102 ave

Looks like Continental Treat were evicted from their Jasper Ave location too?

"In a statement, the city said it doesn’t currently have a lease in place with Continental Treat because it was terminated by their bankruptcy trustee earlier this month.

It added the city had already arranged an alternative payment schedule with the business for unpaid rent when it received notice from the bankruptcy trustee.

Real estate branch manager Chris Hodson writes, “as a responsible landlord, we can’t allow anyone to use the space without a lease and the appropriate insurance in place, especially when there are other tenants living in the building.”

The statement acknowledged the restaurant’s hope to obtain a temporary lease but said it cannot legally enter into a new lease with a company that has entered bankruptcy
"

And there's the other side of the story. City would've had no choice to be evict them if that was indeed the case.

Had breakfast at OEB on Rice Howard Way this morning. The Threesome breakfast was good, although the serving was much smaller than what I can get other breakfast eateries. Pricewise, OEB is more expensive. I'm not sure if it was the lesser quantity + higher prices or if it was the inclement weather this morning, but OEB was much quieter than before. In the past, it was always a full house. I hope it doesn't shutdown, but these days you never know. Mackenzie is an awesome server as always, and she is the best reason why I'll return.
