The parking deck is worst thing about the entire area. Turns it back to the street. As anti-urban as it gets around here.

I have great memories of the giant grocery store parking lot that used to be at Yonge & Northtown Way, but I'm still glad it's gone!

Oh, there I go again, getting all misty-eyed over a parking lot. 🥴
The Dominion? I used to go there with my mom in the '80s to rent a carpet cleaner. But for several years we bought groceries at the No Frills that was on the west side a couple blocks north (as the store was on an incline, it had ramps to the parking lot). And for several years there was a Future Shop directly north of the No Frills.
Strange how humdrum childhood experiences become fond memories.

Yeah, remember how the Dominion Store seemed to sit so far off in the distance? I went to that No Frills many times! I lived in that area on and off for several years. My experiences weren't during my childhood and they more humma humma than humdrumma.

And to go even further back before the No Frills there was a Canadian Tire on that site. It moved to Town and Country Mall (now Centrepoint Mall) in the early to mid 1970's. I'm getting old!

That's long before the time of my earliest awareness, and I just turned half-a-century.;) Once in a while, I go to that Centrepoint Canadian Tire, if I'm in the area. It isn't one of the better ones. The one at Leslie-Sheppard is far superior. However, Carlo's No Frills at Centrepoint is excellent. I live just north of 401-Avenue, and I travel all the way up there for groceries.
