I think there was a rezoning application being looked at for this location in this October (2025), which would allow a max height of 60m. Could this be a revival of the project and have there been any update since?

They are applying for another rezoning as of January, for a 6 story on the parking lot behind the mall. (Towers are still part) going to council in 2 weeks.

On the one hand, this is probably more difficult to go ahead with since it's in Chinatown proper with all the safety issues and perception.
On the other, Stationlands is right by it and they've proven that they can get good product built and leased.

I’m ok with a 6 storey fronting 98 street. Once that and Stationlands #2 are under construction/completed and there’s more people living in the area, it will make it a more desirable neighborhood to justify towers.

I believe the rezoning is converting one tower to the 6 story. And the tower is to be on the existing site of the mall.
