They poured the slab for the 2nd building halfway and built brick walls (firewall). They poured the last section of the parkade slab, and now they're working away to form the rest of the first level.

The 1st building is coming along like crazy! Windows and doors are being installed right now, mechanicals are progressing, and framers are just about there on the final level! It's unbelievable how much has been done over the winter!

Here's another monthly update! They completed the concrete formwork for the first-floor slab and outdoor parking. The first set of rebar went in, and then the electrical smurf tubing went in as well. The second set of rebar is going in soon. It will not be long before they start to pour the last set of concrete in the next week or two! The second building's half section is beginning to be framed out already.

Based on the progress, I can guess that the second building will take about 4-5 months to frame out. It will be fully framed out by November 2024, by the time the first building is ready for occupancy, as they're still targeting Fall 2024.

I would love to see this type of development occur on the lands where Rexall currently stands. If I remember correctly, demolition will be occurring this year and there would nee adequate space to get this type of development going there.

I do think the ideal spot for retail and restaurants is definitely as close to the station as possible, so waiting until stage 3 works. This area doesn't get the same sort of influx that an arena would due to the lower frequency of football games and concerts, so relying heavily on locals is key for businesses.

I hope this continues to work out for the builders. I'd really like to see the parking lot on the west side of the station sold to housing developers, preferably for a stage 4/5.

This is a bit of a quick update: good news and bad news.

The good news is that the crane has been dismantled for the first building!

The bad news is that the masonry (firewall) at the second building has collapsed. I knew it was going to happen because they hadn't fully framed the side of the firewall yet, and from what I see, it was anchored pretty well. However, having both sides exposed to weather elements, there's a huge risk. Well, today, the wind has been crazy, and it likely got caught onto the firewall and collapsed.
