Fast food is expensive, so don't bother building walkable commercial? Seems slightly short sighted, especially since there are plenty of businesses out there other than fast food/restaurants...
There is no shortage of coffee shops and restaurants in this city. How about some of the other goods and services people need? Like the things you have to drive all the way to the power centres on the edge of the city to get.Fast food is expensive, so don't bother building walkable commercial? I live right near here. Agree we don't need another cafe there, Felice is awesome. But we desperately need a good quality Pub right in this location. Somewhere comfortable to hangout with your friends to eat and have a drink. There is no shortage of coffee shops and restaurants in this city. It's not like putting in a CRU means it's going to become anything specific, it's just to provide a unit that can be utilized for commercial uses. Could just as easily become a daycare, dentists office or a a boutique decorate glassworks shop. There is no shortage of coffee shops and restaurants in this city. Is the 18 a burger only or upsized combo? When a Big Mac is $18.00, I suspect dining out is going to start fading out. Wages for the mass has stood still for how long with no happy ending in the near distant future.
There is a pub 1.5 blocks away, and Saving is also 1.5 blocks away. If that is too far, we truly have a very seriously pathetic mentality.Stadium Yards can use both a pub and a mom-and-pop convenience store if Save-On-Foods is too far for you.
What pub are you referring to? The closest thing would be Panini's. Good place for a quick bite but nowhere near enough seating to be a pub, and most of what it has is uncomfortable and squished. There is a pub 1.5 blocks away, and Saving is also 1.5 blocks away. Endzone is now a daycare and liquor store.I think it is called, 'End Zone' across the street direct north of Commonwealth or kiddy-corner to LRT Stadium stop.
It's not so much about having a drink. We just need a nice quality sit down restaurant to hang out it in with the option for a drink. Honestly, I would celebrate having a Boston Pizza. There isn't really a good CRU that fits that need in the neighborhood, would be nice if Rohit added one.I don't drink and didn't know it closed down.
