Passengers waiting to board the riverboat

I'm surprised they haven't changed the name on the awning from 'Edmonton Queen' yet!

Received this email from the riverboat last night:

The summer is almost over! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patronage and for helping revive our amazing Edmonton Queen.

Our final sailing date is on Tuesday, September 30th. There are still a few spots left until them so act now if you'd like to join us.

We're still open all fall and winter! Even though we'll be raising our paddle wheels (so they don't get wrecked by the ice!) we still host events while docked. We offer dueling pianos each weekend in October, we host Christmas and holiday parties, AND we are looking for private events to fill our daytimes and weekdays!

With the leaves changing there is hardly a comparable venue in Edmonton nestled deep in the river valley! Whether you are looking to host a small group coffee mixer on a Tuesday morning, a midweek team luncheon, or a raging birthday party on a Saturday night, we've got you covered! Our unique venue offers everything you need from AV equipment to catering.

Private Rental Discounts: Right now, enjoy discounted weekday rates for both daytime and evening private events. We offer great value and everything you need for your next meeting or celebration. From boardroom-style seating, chef-prepared catering, refreshments, equipment ready for presentations, and a dance floor—we have your next private event covered!

🍸 BONUS: Book a weekday evening event this fall and everyone in your group will receive a drink ticket!

^Great shot. Doesn't even look like our fair city.
We need more places to "touch the river" and to experience views like that. If done right development in the river valley could finally bring meaningful tourism opportunities for the City. I do realize that the opposition to doing any type of development along the river valley in this city is strong, so I have little hope that much will be built in my lifetime.
