Notable exclusion of permits, which can be a better real-time indicator:
MMI posted a piece on how housing starts (as defined by CMHC) are measured by when a foundation is finished, so "2025 housing starts" are really projects that started in 2023-2024. We are still looking solid so far.

Someone made a dashboard that tracks council votes, rezonings, and permit applications all in one place. It's generally info that's available from the City already if you know where to look, but it is interesting. Plus you can see the percentage of for-vs-against housing votes made by members of Council.

Thanks for sharing, that sounds super interesting. I'm guessing there's some level of automated data scraping going on here, so I wonder how they audit the data to ensure accuracy/quality. I'm excited to dig more into this!

I'm on the fence about this one. Price is fine, speakers are reasonably interesting, but spreading the event across 4 days might have been a misstep by the City.Home

Just some guesses w/o double checking any proposed unit counts:
2: Bateman Lands (or w/e the new project name is)
8 & 9: Westblock
10: Westrich G2 site? or else idk anything else west of 109 and south of Jasper that size
12: Westrich 106?
14: Lilac Park?
16: Guessing Switch Phase 2? Don't even see it on the map so assuming it's in the dt cluster
19: That site on the SE corner of 76 ave and 114th?
21: Cidex Hat Strathcona Phase 2?
22: Westrich Windsor Park tower
23: Leston's new prized site off 124th
24: St Anthony's site
26: Nearctic Strathearn Heights Phase 2
30: Falcon II
Tricky cause my understanding is projects can't technically be under construction for this, but then you get projects like Strathearn Heights which is both clearly #26, but is also under construction, but technically they only have a BP for the u/g parkade.

We know Switch 2 is OVER 400 units or maybe just under, hence why the largest number of units on this list HAS to be it…..
What about Ice District phase 2? The 2 X 14 storey buildings has to be north of 250’ish?

Dont think its Switch. Even with the revised units and taller height, Switch only has 407 units development permit wise I think.
Has to be Parks II at this point.

Why the F@$k are we guessing here? Is the city too coy to publish project names? Plus, no one on here can unequivocally state what they are? I’m a little baffled here…..
