Rezoning application - it would reduce the project to a maximum of 50 metres (~14 storeys) and a FAR of 6.0; the report notes that the current zoning actually allows a max of 60 metres right now instead of the listed 135-150m, due to a sunset clause requiring development to start by 2022. The owners want the Massey Ferguson building to be designated a historic resource (details here), and incorporate the east, south, and west elevations of the 1947 building into their development; the 1953 addition would be demolished. The applicant is a company named "Faction Inc."

This is an interesting step for them, and I hope they do get it going. I've seen in person a few of their works in Kelowna, and I work at The Exchange. The build quality is really good for the offices here, and the Health Sciences Centre is a very nice building inside and out. Their residential buildings also look really nice in person, and look like quality builds, with nice finishes.
Overall the standards in Kelowna seem higher than Edmonton, for finishes (especially external) which makes me think it's a good sign that they're interested in Edmonton (it could help raise the bar)

I thought that German outfit bought Massey? No? If not, did they buy Healy?
Germans own it, but these guys are probably representing them and will be managing the development as well as the architecture, based on what I understand of what they do. The project they have at 1000 Manhattan Dr here in Kelowna is gonna work in a similar fashion.
