Nice! $800M+ PLUS 1000 jobs! Unlike YYC’s failed-never-to-break-ground De Havilland Fire bomber “campus” this will see the light of day. Kinda helps having a hometown PM I guess?!

Privately held company so no exact details - but how do you think they have been doing? Even with the "revenge travel" after COVID - and after Big Daddy Trump's rhetoric - do you think their business "model" of flying all overseas flights out of YYC makes sense? They expect folks from YVR, TO and MTL to fly to YYC to catch a flight to Europe? I've heard they are fire bagging rates as low as $99 each way on the 787. One guy I know in NRT paid that much at the last minute to come back to AB....go figure?!.

This is great for Edmonton and YEG, but not everything has to be some competition with YYC. I don’t think anybody saw this positive news as such. This whole schtick is getting pretty tired.

Every time something good happens in YYC we tend to get it shoved down our throats whether we care to hear about it or not, so I feel the negative posts about them may be a reaction to that which is also tiring.

Both are tiring, but this just feels pretty childish to me. We can love our city for what it’s worth rather than resorting to turning the YEG-Thread into a Trash-YYC-Thread.

I didn’t mean to make you upset - I just was pointing out how I’m not a fan of the constant comparisons and ripping on our neighbour. It’s childish.
Hence why a few messages up I only posted about the new route from YEG, and didn’t complain about how YYC got new routes……..
