Cool! Apparently the city of YYC ships oil and gas to the US!!!! Who knew? Could have sworn we were at the epicenter of oil and gas terminal transportation. That's fine, apparently they will be "hit hardest," so they can have that title....lol. Our own reporters in this country are about as inept as US reporters when it comes to reporting on their own countries.

IDK if this is yet again another case of someone at the centre of the Canadian universe with a superficial knowledge of the west who assumes everything in Alberta happens in Calgary. Often that is to their city's benefit, but in this case I am not sure they would want this negative attention and related implications.

It's pretty much standard math back east: Calgary = Alberta. The media takes it as gospel, and for the uninformed public it's an accepted tenet of Central Canadian beliefs system. I used to travel there frequently for business and it was interesting to experience. This really gained traction during the boom in the 2000s, when easterners were moving to Calgary and corporations were really upping the finance market in Calgary.
