Well they did re-do 99th St in the Summer of 2000, just in time for the 2001 Track and Field games held at Commonwealth. New planters in the middle of the street, all of which have come and gone about a dozen times - nothing seems to grow in that road...lol.

Nothing to get too excited about but there will be bike infrastructure (bike lane from 83rd ave to 79th, shared pathway 76th-79th) added on happy beer street, 100th ave:

This along with improvements to 76th ave through their renewal should increase visibility and make it a friendlier to get to.

There is an interesting discussion in that, these breweries popped up here partly due to the gritty, industrial vibe and cheap rents. Wonder what will happen to the rents when everything is a bit nicer around there - Though the trainyard isn't going anywhere lol.

Edmonton's International Beerfest

Every year, beer lovers from around the world gather and toast to tradition, the future and all things beer at the Edmonton International BeerFest. On April 18 and 19 this event will be featuring hundreds of beers from around the world, eight bands, roving entertainment and more!

I took the survey. Although I told them I'll be at this new Entertainment District with bells on, I did explain to them that Happy Beer Street is an industrial hellhole that most people pass by between downtown and south Edmonton.

Imagine if we brought this back in its original location top of bank overlooking the city as a destination brewpub with patio!

Also took it and said the same thing. Sidewalks in that area need to be Improved. But approving this application should be a no brainer. Such a neat little pocket of the city.
