Sooo, is this ever happening? Do we need a gofundme for the wavedeck? Have we value engineered it to a sticker on some plywood yet?

This is part of the WT Stormwater Management project and the WT page on that gives the rather depressing news that it will, one day, be a boardwalk. (See below.) There is more about it all on the Sherbourne Common and Treatment Plant threads. See: https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threa...-treatment-plant-1s-gh3-rv-anderson-wt.18359/ and https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threa...-s-waterfront-toronto-teeple-architects.5221/

In-Water Pipes

The final piece of the stormwater management system is the in-water pipes currently being installed along the Water’s Edge Promenade in East Bayfront. Once the pipes are connected to the system in 2024, they will convey stormwater from the Dockside area of East Bayfront to the Cherry Street Stormwater Management Facility. In the coming years, our plans include building a boardwalk extension over the pipes, increasing the width of the Water’s Edge Promenade at the foot of Sherbourne Common.

Another example of WT being paid big bucks to take decades to finish projects. They should spend more time building and less time doing consultations with the public and partners.

WT is exemplary in consulting and it is for that reason its projects are almost always well done and are praised. That said, they have also got a record of projects that take far too long to do or, like this boardwalk, are unfinished with no clear plans for completion. The completion of this boardwalk does not even seem to be on some sort of 'in process' list and is thus different from the WT plans (or aspirations) that have not even started - like the bridges along the Lake that have been proposed as 'concepts' but no work has actually been done.

Was it WT behind the piers that were in the rendering of Pier 27? Or was that the developer making it look like they had the ability to build lake docking infrastructure?

An interesting tidbit from the following video is that Redpath is looking at redeveloping/expanding its office building along QQE that might include retail.

Marche Leo's and Region Food + Wine Bar going in side by side on Merchants' Wharf:
So, the same pairing as in the Canary District. I find Leo's prices a bit high (except for their coffee counter) but they are nice stores and definitely fill a need in terms of making these areas feel more livable and less cut off from the rest of the city. One step at a time.

Same pairing as Lambton too...
