Oh dear, they've found a new use for surface parking lots. Mr. Towered isn't going to like that. :(

The Waterfront BIA is expanding to cover this entire area. From Yonge (its current eastern boundary) to Cherry in the east; and from the lake to the Gardiner.

Report going to the November 12th Economic and Community Development Ctte.

Help shape Quayside's public realm

Join Waterfront Toronto on November 20 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. for a virtual (Zoom) public meeting about the streets and public realm being designed around the new Quayside community.

Quayside is a 4.9 hectare area of land at the foot of Parliament Street on Toronto’s eastern downtown waterfront. Two distinct but connected projects will transform Quayside from an underused area into a dynamic, inclusive and resilient community.

Waterfront Toronto is delivering the area’s infrastructure and public realm (including new streets, public spaces, active transportation infrastructure and other amenities), and local developers Dream Unlimited and Great Gulf Group – together known as Quayside Impact Limited Partnership – are developing the mixed-use community.

At this interactive virtual meeting you’ll learn more about the public realm work being led by Waterfront Toronto, including project context, overarching goals, design strategies and project elements. You’ll also hear how the project embraces ecology, mobility and movement, and activation and amenities.

Your feedback and comments will help Waterfront Toronto and our design team refine the public realm designs, ensuring that this work activates the waterfront, meets the needs of residents, celebrates the ecology of the area and establishes Quayside as a destination.

NOTE TO MODS: Maybe add Quayside to thread title???

The public realm mention in @DSC 's post above is public as part of the agenda for the FARM Ctte meeting held yesterday.

Not sure if there's a better place to post this, but these just appeared out of the blue all along Lake Shore between Richardson and Lower Jarvis.

I can't imagine anyone ever parking a bike here, although it does at least feel like a very slight safety improvement for pedestrians on what is a really dangerous bit of road, with drivers from the Gardiner and Lower Jarvis merging into the right lane to turn right onto Richardson.
