Too bad the market wasn't open this afternoon. Would've been a great opportunity to capture the game crowd

Finally made it this Saturday (been sick for going on 3 weeks now and the stairs on 104 are killer when your lungs aren't doing well). It was absolutely wonderful, many pups were petted and many beers and ciders purchased "to support the local economy". I hope we keep getting more vendors! I'd hate to lose this market again.

People were pretty focussed on getting to their spot; unsure it would have been that busy to be honest.

I agree with having a permanent multi day space downtown and I am sure there are a number of various good examples from elsewhere.

However, for me the question is what location/space here would work best for this.

Call me crazy, but i'd love to see it ON Jasper west of BP's that opens up onto the park.

I thought you wanted this for an extension of the park c/w water fountain? Make up your friggin' mind!

In any case, how about transforming some of the downtown parking lots into an indoor/outdoor farmer's market? There are a couple of these parking lots along 104 St between Jasper Ave and 102 Ave where the outdoor farmer's market currently exists. Or how about the Revillon parkade where Japanese Village used to be?

I’d suggest ECC Bay space first floor (change a couple covered window displays to opening garage style doors) but once 102 ave LRT construction commences, it’d never survive

^ ^^ ^^^ ^^^^ ^^^^^ Have so many forgotten about the failed indoors farmers market in the Boardwalk & Revillon buildings? Edmonton has nowhere enough nearby population, workforce or tourism draw to make an enclosed farmers market successful. That didn't stop someone from being convinced they could recreate the success of the Granville Island market. And yes that was the pitch back then.

EDIT: and it failed spectacularly. I don't recall it lasting very long, although maybe longer than I remember before the final operator threw in the towel.
