I would like to use this space to clarify that there are a number of hard working TFW's that I have had the pleasure of working with (and getting to know
personally) over the years. In the past, we've hired additional security teams that are cost effective by offering newcomers to Canada entry level security
positions with seasonal shifts at many of these venues. Many of which, also pursue an education at our Colleges here during their off days.

Get to know the team around you in your workplace(s).

To continue with the topic of shoplifting and over-protective/under-protective security in conjunction with Dollarama and similar stores, I once had a
Shoppers Drug Mart incident In the store's soda section. While stacking trays of cardboard boxes into my shopping bag. The same cardboard boxes that
are eventually thrown out by the staff, I was approached by the manager.

With shoplifting also rampant at this location, the manager took me aside and inspected my bag. Telling the manager that I intended to use these cardboard
boxes to ship parcels at this location in the future, she just looked at the boxes and said 'those aren't ours' (the trays are dropped off by Coca-Cola, I guess)
before walking off.

Needless to say, the manager was soon replaced not long after due to a number of complaints from staff and customers alike. To this day, I still wonder if
she had the right to inspect my personal belongings.

Dollarama's recent earnings report showcases a robust retail giant. Net income jumped 27% to $273.8 million, or $0.98 per share, compared to last year's $215.8 million, or $0.77 per share. Sales increased by 8.2% to $1.52 billion, beating FactSet's $1.5 billion forecast, fueled by new store openings and a 4.9% rise in comparable store sales. This financial success supports Dollarama’s expansion strategy, with plans for 70 to 80 new stores in fiscal 2026. The upcoming acquisition of The Reject Shop in Australia and the rollout of Dollarcity stores in Mexico highlight its global growth ambitions.
