Photos from Lakeshore Blvd East. The south side lane is now paved and open from the Don Roadway to Carlaw Ave, although some scattered pylons remain. The north side seems paved too along this stretch but not accessible with turned-off bike traffic signals.

State of ramp & stairs, etc on the Lower Don Trail yesterday:

Thank you for the pics. Why am I so obsessed with this ramp and its never-ending construction? Anyway, the city's website says this thing will open in the "spring." Summer officially starts in under a week. I'm skeptical, but also extremely frustrated with how long this trail closure has lasted and the prospect of another summer without access.

I was just thinking about this. Wasn't the last update mentioning June opening? The way how it looks now seems more like September...

Doesn’t this just illustrate everything about how many perceive the danger of each and how detached emotions are from reality

It’s probably like this to deter racing on the grounds and the cemetery website says cyclists can go 20 km/h, so not sure if 10 is new or outdated. But it does say 30 km/h for vehicles

what is current speed limit on Kay Gardner beltline? It was also something silly like 15km/h. And plenty of locals willing to scream at commuting bikers. Somehow no one is screaming on speeding cars on Davisville..
There are some true jerks who frequent that trail, and treat it like their private walkway with long-leashed or unleashed dogs and people walking 4 abreast who screech if you use your bell. Another reason why acting as if the Beltline is a valid alternative to Eglinton (RIP) is fake news.

I wonder about those speed limit signs too. I don't think there is any enforceability on those, as it's not a roadway at all. I guess the city must have caved to some resident pressures and put them up, but no one rides that slowly. 20 is perfectly reasonable and safe. I am more concerned by all the manner of e-vehicles I see in there, but that's another battle.

Why are there never any workers on this project?! Rob Ford was a useless junkie as a mayor, but as a councilor he'd be down here demanding action. But our local, Chris "Sankofa" Moise is no where to be seen. The Lower Don Trail was disabled in April 2023 for this project, meaning that tens of thousands of cycles, runs and walks have been diverted, and for what? A ramp on Riverdale Park, stairs at Dundas and a rebuilt pathway from above Riverdale bridge to about Corktown? Three plus years for this?!
