I heard that Cactus Club is coming to West District. True?
Nice to see Village Ice Cream committing.
Nice to see Village Ice Cream committing.
I could see that happening.I heard the Cactus Club is going to West Springs Landing,
When will it be announced? I was through there on the weekend (sorry, no photos for SRC this time), and it is looking great, getting close to turn over for tennant fit-ups I assume.Radio Block will be a different restaurant.
I was hoping for a craft brewery in WD rather than the Canadian Brewhouse. There are a lot chain restaurants at oak&olive, so I could see the Canadian Brewhouse going into the corner spot. It looks like there may be a rooftop patio at that corner spot? That corner spot is likely pricey given the traffic exposure. Canadian Brewhouse has the financial wherewithal to sign a lease there, but I was looking something more artisanal and high-brow.I've heard Blowers and Grafton for the radio block and Canadian Brewhouse for Oak and Olive. (not confirmed)
With the quantity of nearby and highly walkable retail, it will have far fewer car trips than previous generations of suburbs I think. Can't wait to tour this one when I visit Calgary. Only real downside is its remote location with little transit. Of course, not a problem for those who get around by car, which I imagine will be most residents.
And on the citywide scale it isn't particularly remote either - it's the closest in greenfield area to the core, with well established direct links. As the local transit routes hopefully improve in the coming years, they can leverage the time-competitive West LRT in from 69th Street. It isn't that remote if you are willing to use a transfer. The 98 will pick you up from 69th street station and take you right here. Or, you could catch the 111 from Westbrook. If you time the transfer right, both are very quick and direct.
