Technically it's Sunnyside, but Kensington seems to be the de facto name. Might as well bend to the will of the general public and combine Sunnyside and Hillhurst into Kensington. :)
Exactly. Just like Victoria Park and Connaught became the Beltline, and later, Beltline became synonymous with “downtown” as well. Sunnyside and Hillhurst are just “Kensington” to the extremely vast majority of the city.

The Containers have been removed from the site too. RIP ConatinR, you did ok, but never quite lived up to your potential.
Would have been a great place for another River Hall. I’m looking forward to that parcel finally getting developed though.

A summer pub in among the containers would have crushed it.
For sure, something like that would be packed all summer. An outdoor pub like River Hall plus a couple of spots for food trucks or kiosks. It would be the ultimate public space activation, but this affordable housing project is also going to be good.

I say allow 10th Street and Kensington Road to be where all the retail and restaurants are. This should make that stretch even a bit more vibrant.

I think it's great that something is being built here, and I think affordable housing is fantastic, but I do wish it was something a bit nicer and more exciting, with some stores/bars, in such a prominent and well-situated spot.
As someone that has recently been looking at taking on retail space, I would call that a "B" space at best. Likely "C". The foot traffic from 10 St aren't walking down there.
