Farkas just gave ol' Rick Bell a shit-kicking online too.

I'll write this like Rick Bell...

Farkas seems to have tapped into something that has been missing Provincially.

Your scribbler is reminded of the good days of the old PC's.

It won him the mayor's chair.

That lane is available provincially.

Is there enough time to get organized?

Taking out Smith and Nenshi, you do that, you will go down in Alberta history.

Hop into my DMs Post Media, I won't even charge you per paragraph, which is what I assume Rick bills.

not. enough. periods. Fixed!

Been pleasantly surprised with Frakas. He's taken pragmatic positions like repealing rezoning but keeping HAF funds, while standing up for things like anti-separation and the fare free zone.

It's funny how politics can often change so quickly, 3 years ago, half the city was strategically voting for Gondek in order to keep Farkas out. I believe there may have been some amount of strategic voting for Farkas to keep Sharp from winning.

With Farkas, we'll have to see how things unfold over time, but so far he hasn't done anything to cause me worry about him being mayor. Over the past 3 years I saw him soften his stance on things, but was wondering what he would be like if he got elected.

He’s pushing back against Smith and the UCP and calling them out for their BS which I am encouraged by.

He's also not done any of the grandstanding things like the council pay and what not. He's also been far more visible with his transit videos, engaging on Reddit and other social platforms, and attending various events.

Regardless of whether people like or dislike Farkas, we dodged a bullet when he defeated Sharp and pushed her out of municipal politics altogether.
Don't get too excited, look for Sharp to run in McLean's ward after he bootlicks his way into a UCP seat there and then she will setup for another run at mayor after that.

Do we ever redraw municipal boundaries? With the explosion in downtown population, could we get an extra urban councillor?

Farkas must have done some soul searching on his hike, because he definitely came back a different politician.
