also city hall

but imagine they dont wany anyone seeing whats (not) going on in there
I wonder how long until they give the exterior of City Hall a facelift... I know they're redoing the interior floor by floor it seems. Or is that one of those things that the City wouldn't do because money could be better spent elsewhere?

Yeah, I doubt they would reclad the building unless there were structural issues that force them to

This project more than almost any other conversion shows the potential for upgrading generic modernist office slab buildings. This builds off the bare bones and enhances what's already there. I love that they kept the mural and the concrete slab edges without slapping on random rectangles or suburban looking siding.

This one was made much easier by already having an exclusively glass exterior. In fairness to some of the others, that is not the case. These conversions only work when you update what's already there...the minute you have to do any major exterior structural modifications, the business plan goes out the window

For this point about conversions working, I wonder if/when we see Ford Tower get converted. A lot of buildings around here are being converted or at least slated to be. The "Office Space for Lease" sign remains up. I think this one would just need to swap out the windows for ones that can open. The floor plate isn't huge either.
