I wonder if people are surprised when they come here or if it is what they expect? Not many (any) cities our size have a downtown/Beltline like we do.

That is very true. I can think of a few similar size cities like Charlotte and Austin that have buildings taller than our tallest, but they don't have anything remotely resembling the forest of towers that has developed in Beltline. And this photo only really shows the west half of the skyline!

You know, I had this same thought when I first saw this photo, but I actually think it may be a good thing in a weird way. Keeps the patios on the other side of the street sunny.

A couple of low rise 5-6 floor buildings on the north side corners would be good. Probably low enough to avoid shadowing on the Ship, even during the winter.

17th ave is prob a few more large projects away from having a true big city feel.

Street frontage and massing is pretty good, materials are disappointing. Wish Arlington wasn’t the most active developer on 17th ave.

Looking forward to the mixed use tower sites further east on 17th.
