I don't think we will make any additions this season, nobody will want to play for the bottom feeding Flames. That Sharangovich contract is looking like a big mistake now, guy has zero confidence and getting ripped by Bieksa certainly won't help. Happy with Weegar's response to stick up for Sharky though, shows they care about each other at least.

What didn't help was the coach scratching him after he was ripped in the media. That's piling on. That Huska contract extension looks to have been a bit premature.

Yeah I think he deserved a chance to redeem himself after Bieksa's comments. I don't have an issue with Huska so far, he's trying to find some sort of chemistry on a team that just looks lost most nights.

In good news, Miromanov was waived

I have to disagree the continuous line blender has not worked at all. It has resulted in one lucky win and one fine effort. Maybe giving players, a chance to put a couple periods or a couple games of chemistry together would help with the offense? When you don't know your linemate it makes it hard to manufacture offense.

So Shania Twain was at the game last night, and rode the horse at the Stamps game last weekend, does she have a house here or something? Seems odd for her to be hanging around if she isn't doing a concert or something...
On the broadcast Kelly mentioned the person she was with was from a prominent ranch in the Black Diamond area. I'm wondering if they're friends and or she's doing some kind of "experience". There was an executive helicopter that flew over the SW yesterday afternoon towards Black Diamond.

On the flames... the last people to switch from a win now mentality to a development mentality will be the coaches. If the flames continue to have a .188 points percentage until Halloween, you'll maybe start to see the coaches start to give some of the young guys more of a chance. You're starting to hear the flames name on almost every insider's hits. Conroy is working, hopefully not looking for quick fixes but seeing what can be done now that he doesn't need to preserve the room like he felt he needed to do last season.

Just hope they don't make a trade for another middle six kind of player. They got too many of those guys already.

Only thing we should trade for is prospects and draft picks. No top 3 player will want to come here, and we have enough middle six as you say. If we can hold off till the trade deadline, we can probably get a team to overpay for Andersson, Kadri and Coleman...

I don't mind getting a middle six player, if you're giving up a middle six player. Guys like Frost, Farabee, Sharangovich can be traded for other guys who need a change of scenery.
The trade last year for those two were fine, but I don't like it when insiders are saying Conroy is trying to get more offence. There's no top line player available so it's probably a middle six trade. I'd rather give away some of our middle six guys for picks and bring up some AHL players like Kerins and give him a minimum 3rd line role.

The vibes also seem off. I think they have to ship out the veterans that are playing for contracts and want to win vs those that are ok with some developing years.

I wouldn't mind this but the picks you'll get for our middle six guys are the equivalent to trading for magic beans.

I do agree that Kerins needs his shot, but I don't think that comes until there is a spot that opens up via trade or injury. Speaking of injury, something looks to be up with Backlund.

From nhil.com/edge, his skating speed has consistently dropped every game. If he's hurt, they need to give him some time off and see if the Flames have a young players that can try and play those tough minutes. Because 36 isn't young in hockey terms. Personally, I'd like to see if Frost can be that player. He's good in the dot and is above water when look at his analytics.

I think they should dump Sharky ASAP, but am not ready to give up on Frost or Farabee yet, both have played great lately. Just need to light the lamp, but the entire team is struggling with that currently.
