It's as bad as the proliferation of EIFS clad older buildings that we see plaguing streets like St Clair Ave West

A bit off topic, but yes, St. Clair West has to be have the highest concentration of EIFS storefronts in the city.

Wrecking this building's facades in the name of cultural representation is a bit of an underhanded, solicitous move. There are plenty of ways to note what the building is now being used for, without doing this kind of damage. Like, straightforward signage.
I hope this gets reconsidered.
