Likely not a popular comment but this bridge is way overbuilt. 3 lanes each way plus a shoulder the width of a lane. Having driven it every day this summer, we could have shaved either a lane or the shoulder and likely saved a good chunk of money. I do like the paths though, nice and wide. Will be nice when those are connected better.

Maybe, but it's almost done. Anyways on bit of logic is it was probably overbuilt for future capacity issues.
 
I think the 50 Street Bridge will be good for bikes and buses. I'm guessing that more vehicles will be taking 90 Avenue/50 Street from downtown to Mill Woods and possibly Sherwood Park.

Was thinking the exact same thing this week when I crossed it. Even with the width it is now it works pretty well.
 
The second stage of the project is the 50 Street/Sherwood Park Freeway overpass. I'm guessing it will be rebuilt to accommodate more traffic.

Had we reduced the size of the overpass, it would’ve been nice to use the extra funds to grade-separate 75th Street.
