Still no vertical progression on the hotel as of today. The rebar is there for it, but so far they seem to have only poured the garage and are using it for staging the apartment. Curious that the Devapp sign is still on the fence as well, I thought they took those down once they are approved.

Is there any new rendering for the 23 story building?
Not that I've seen. I would love to get more details on it to give it it's own thread.
The whole tower proposal and approval process was packaged into the process for the original Andaz back in 2013-2014. At the time, the Andaz took up all the oxygen because of the debate on reusing the Union du Canada building vs building new. People flipped about the height, so they ended up building new instead (converting an office building with taller floor plates vs new building with lower hotel ceilings).
Claridge hasn't released anything new other than a couple renderings of the new hotel that has some ghost renders of the apartment building in the background (that looks the same as the 2013-2014 proposal).
Honestly, I wonder if we should have a new thread for this hotel since it's no longer an expansion of the Andaz, but a stand alone Hyatt.
EDIT: Claridge calls it an addition to the original Andaz, but it's a totally separate building and branding (though still under the Hyatt family) connected with a skywalk.

Couple of floors with curved sections completed now, looks like it’s lining up with the overall shape of the designs in post #39 on this thread.
A building shrouded in mystery is being constructed by Claridge. We know it will be 22s tall and we have ancient Pre-COVID renders from the SSP Ottawa thread that give us an idea of what it might look like.

I was poking around the top floor of Simons.
Just a matter of time before this thing starts showing itself from a few angles.
This thread should probably be split up with the pair that hoggytime created.
I'll keep the posts from before hoggy created this thread on the old Andaz thread so that the project details stay on top.

City’s heritage committee OK’s expansion of Andaz Hotel in ByWard Market
The city heritage committee has approved an application to expand the Andaz Hotel in the ByWard Market by adding a second tower.

Lot spacing aside I have high hopes for this project. The clump is lacking in spunkyness.
If they use good materials like their last two projects, should be pretty decent, if a bit weird.
