Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

Thanks Faraz Gholizadeh of Safe Parkside for this great video calling out Doug Ford's blatant disregard of his own government's data on the effectiveness of speed cameras, as well as his Bills 212 & 60 which effectively ban bike lanes on Parkside...

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Technically, it already is given the westernmost stretch by Mount Dennis is elevated. ;)

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Took this photo at Eglinton and Scarlett while riding the Loop Trail on Sunday. The Eglinton Crosstown Western Extension seems to be coming along nicely.

    2026 Toronto Mayoral Race

Anthonly Furey's out too. As much as I dislike Furey, him dropping out of the mayoral race effective leaves Brad Bradford - who must be stopped at all costs - as the only primary challenger to Olivia Chow. Very concerned about Chow's re-election chances because of this. 😭...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Thanks Community Bikeways - TCBC for organizing today's "Ride The Loop Close The Gaps" which about 50 people braved the cold, snow, hail, rain, sunshine, and obstacles to attend! My blog post about the ride is ready for your viewing pleasure...

Yonge Street Revitalization (Downtown Yonge BIA/City of Toronto)

Per the latest column from Shawn Micallef about the latest disappointing yongeTOmorrow proposal, "If Toronto can’t pull off a proper pedestrianization on Yonge, it shames itself in front of peer cities." Couldn't agree more! Don't forget to go to the consultation on Tuesday, April 21, complete...

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

Thanks. I was wondering how that Pape tunnel would be dealt with. Given the construction won't be done until the early 2030's, Metrolinx needs to start planning now for the eventual northern extension to Line 4 at Don Mills.

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

The final design was revealed in 2020 just before COVID hit, and yet it took six years to get to the point of starting construction? This is bonkers!

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

Summer 2028 for the tunnelling to reach Corktown (now Distillery District)? If Metrolinx is planning to reuse those TBM's for the Gerrard to DVP tunnel, overall tunnelling won't be done before 2030 for sure.

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

In a way, it's nice the Davenport Greenway will be connected with the West Toronto Railpath Extension. Just wished this thing would get done sooner! ;)

    Marlee/Glencairn Transformation

Do you support the Beltline Gap Connections project? The City of Toronto will be hosting a Phase 3 consultation for Growing Marlee-Glencairn on Thursday, April 30 (4 - 8:30 PM) at 70 Ridge Hill Drive. Please attend to show your support and spread the word...

    Church Street Pedestrianization Pilot

The petition has gotten almost 1100 signatures within the first few days which is decent. :) https://win.newmode.net/campaigns/experiencethevillage

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Shouldn't we get back to cycling infrastructure, folks? A lot of the recent commentary here seems to be more appropriate for the general cycling issues. ;)

    RapidTO: Master Thread

Wonder if anyone has checked the progress of RapidTO on Dufferin given that project website suggested work would resume last Monday (April 6)? https://www.toronto.ca/services-payments/streets-parking-transportation/transportation-projects/rapidto/rapidto-dufferin-street/

    RapidTO: Master Thread

The RapidTO Bathurst website issued the following update. If you're in the area, it would be great if you can report on the installation. 😉 April Update: Work on Bathurst Street’s priority streetcar lanes between Nassau Street and Bathurst Station is expected to resume the week of April 13...
