As a nearby resident, I love that we're getting a Shoppers. But the location there, with its extended outside paving, was clearly intended for a restaurant with patio (also seen in some of the renders). I think it's a shame that there wasn't another suitable space for Shoppers so it didn't have...

Ironically the pavers in the Distillery District itself are not original. The roads originally were dirt, and the pavers, although from the 1850s, were brought in from Cleveland when the site was redeveloped by Cityscape...

It makes a lot of sense to densify this part of town, especially with the King streetcar transit corridor right there. And the project doesn't involve any heritage buildings, unlike a lot of King Street proper.

Can we please just move Jesse Ketchum park already? Or put big lights on it?

Well, yeah, and I suspect that is precisely why they did it, although it seems rather misleading.

Wow, RyanD, that shot is almost like a render. This is such a gorgeous building.

What would the purpose be of a underground connection? The North Building won't operate as a market except on weekends, correct? And is it that much of a burden to cross the street?

We could just surround the playground with sun lamps.

And Berczy Park is two block away.

I thought the current temp market location was to become a park?

I don't understand why the design language is so different on the north side.

The Brunny reno was indeed less extensive, but it was similar in that it did a great job of retaining the heritage aspects of the building.
